Wrentham Select Board Approves Three Contracts Worth More Than $540,000

WRENTHAM -- May 6, 2026, Wrentham Select Board approves three contracts exceeding $540,000 and continues dangerous dog case. The board on May 6 unanimously approved a $502,900 contract with Greenman-Petersen Incorporated for the Route 113 complete-streets redesign, funded through a $475,000 housing works grant and $28,000 in town matching funds, with one member abstaining due to a separate professional relationship with the firm. A one-year ambulance service agreement with Trinity Ambulance, carrying two optional renewal years, was approved after Town Administrator Jason Mello acknowledged a hoped-for shared-service arrangement with a neighboring community had fallen through. The board also renewed its IT management contract with Umbral Technologies at $39,000, the lowest of at least six bids. In a dangerous dog hearing, owner Susan Bryan Conant testified that she had already initiated surrender of the dog, named Mabel, to the MSPCA before any police report was filed; the board voted to continue the hearing two weeks pending written confirmation of the surrender rather than issue a nuisance-dog designation. The board declined to take a position on Economic Development Committee-sponsored warrant articles addressing marijuana retail zoning, leaving the decision to voters at Town Meeting on May 11.
