Select Board · Meeting of October 21, 2026

Wrentham's Select Board approved a flashing stop sign at Madison and East streets after Pond Meadow residents reported repeated crashes near their property. Resident council president Alan Adams said vehicles have twice crashed into a stone wall "only 20 feet" from where residents gather, and DPW Assistant Director Chris Cassidy and Police Chief Bill McGrath both backed the upgrade. The board voted 4-0 to approve it after Selectman Roy Lamothe said a sign alone would not fix the problem, arguing "sober people stop" and pushing for brush clearing and restriped lines.

Separately, Regional Public Health Director Matt Tannis told the board Wrentham's shared public health budget runs about $316,000 locally plus roughly $415,000 in grant funds, and warned losing that funding "would be absolutely detrimental" as the town weighs forming a health district with Norfolk after Franklin's withdrawal. The board also voted 4-0 to renew a Pioneer Engine Company license and 4-0 to back restoring services at Norwood Hospital.
