Select Board · Meeting of September 16, 2026

Wrentham Select Board asks CPC to revisit a contested lake-funding vote and opens a review of license plate readers. The board voted 4-0 to direct Town Manager Mike King to draft a letter asking the Community Preservation Committee to reconsider its 6-2 vote funding a third round of Mirror Lake weed treatment, after Town Counsel Liz Lydon warned the roughly $8,000-a-year project may now be "maintenance" rather than allowable preservation under state law. "My personal opinion is we shouldn't use CPC funds to fund this project," said Chair Chris Gallo.

Separately, the board voted 4-0 to have King study automated license plate readers after resident Michael Smith proposed oversight bylaws; Police Chief McGrath said Wrentham has no such technology and is redirecting a $75,000 grant earmarked for it. The board also amended water system fee timing, approved White Barn Farm's final 2026 alcohol licenses, and heard King Philip schools outline roof, turf and security upgrades expected to top $900,000.
