Wrentham Recreation Commission plans response to Roderick School construction impacts. Recreation Director Jeffrey Plympton detailed how the three-year project, beginning November 2027, will eliminate Gilpatrick Field and close Heckler Field for three to four years, forcing the program to maintain satellite fields at Sweatt Complex while four new fields are built at Rice Complex. The commission identified a $17,000 revenue shortfall from youth soccer this year after enrollment dropped 150 participants, noting that field-use fees are essential for facility maintenance.

The commission established a capital budget subcommittee to develop a long-term strategic plan, with particular attention to the aging Sweatt Complex concession stand as construction proceeds.
