Planning Board Backs Wampum Corner Zoning Overhaul for Town Meeting Vote

Planning Board · Meeting of April 1, 2026

WRENTHAM — Planning Board advances two zoning options for South Street corridor to Town Meeting. Chair Thomas Maloney's board unanimously recommended options to rezone the Wampum Corner-Route 1A corridor either to B-2 only (southern parcels) or B-2 and B-1 (southern and northern), allowing residents to vote on the choice. Director Rachel Benson presented district differences; public comment raised abutter notification and property-impact concerns.

The board also unanimously released a $29,832 performance bond for the 64 Winter Street subdivision and appointed Norman Orban, III to the Housing Production Plan Steering Committee.
