Wrentham Community Preservation Committee approves $374,000 in two contested projects. Chair Robin Cuddy and the committee voted 6 to 2 to fund a three-year Mirror Lake curly pond weed treatment at $24,000, rejecting an amendment to restrict future invasive weed treatment funding. In a tighter 5 to 3 vote, members approved $350,000 for Rice Complex field lighting despite concerns from Cuddy, Vice Chair William Harrington, and Clerk Steve Sviontek about incomplete financial planning and growing project scope.
Both projects will proceed to Town Meeting for final approval.
