Commission approves Algonquin Gas survey, continues three hearings

WRENTHAM — Conservation Commission backs Algonquin Gas survey. The Wrentham Conservation Commission unanimously approved moving forward with an environmental survey for the Algonquin Gas enhancement project, which would involve approximately 2.1 miles of natural gas pipeline work in town. The survey would be conducted by SWCA Environmental Consultants to identify environmental impacts.
The Commission also continued three pending public hearings, including one for proposed improvements to Red Dam on Lake Pearl, which was declared unsafe by state regulators in March 2023. The dam improvements would include rip rap work, tree removal and regrading, with a planned 3.5-foot water drawdown during winter construction.
